I agree, it just has a mystical element to it that triggers something when I view it.
But if I look at it too long I may have to take a Dramamine...

Err, is anybody else seeing a strong cyan cast to that on their screen?  Algae haze perhaps?

I see the cyan cast, but didn't comment on it because I think it adds to the image rather than detracts.  It's one of those fortuitous errors that makes for a stronger image.

And TroopLewis, NGC1514 is the 1514th object in the New General Catalog of Non-Stellar Objects put together by an astronomer back in the late 1800s.  1514 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Taurus and one of my favorite objects when I have the telescope out in the fall and winter.   Amateur astronomy is my other hobby.

Interesting! I'm still trying to figure out how to find the north star. Thanks goodness for GPS units.
